I got to know Bill and his brothers back in the 70s living in Bretton Ridge in North Olmsted. My brother Carl and I would just hang out with them. His posted picture with that expression hadn’t changed. His subtle sense of humor with that half-smile was him.

As I read Jessica’s explanation of how and why he did things reminded me of how his personality was even 50 years ago. Even at that age (middle teen yrs) he was good at telling how something happened with his own humor. He was naturally funny in a reserved sort of way.

He tells the story of their father”s Chevy Corvair with the engine that FELL OUT on Brookpark Rd by Great Northern Mall. Just plug in his mannerisms, facial expressions, and his voice as he unravels that embarrassing moment in the middle of the intersection. (I apologize to Eddy and Kevin if it was one of you who told it). Please call me and correct me if I’m wrong. You know how rumors start.

With going to college for a few years and being away our friendships just got out of touch. I did meet up again with Bill in a surprising kind of way when my wife (Marty)and I moved into the condos behind Walmart before it was built. Our common area butted up against the new homes built by Ken Cleveland. His house was a stone’s throw away. We talked for a few moments and tried to catch up on a few things. It was nice to have seen him.

I always felt comfortable being with them. I think my brother Carl might have more stories about Bill since he associated more with him. They were a great group to be with. I tried to see if I had any pictures from ’69-’75 but no luck.

My prayers and thoughts go out to his whole family. He will be remembered in my daily prayers. God Bless.
